How would your dreams help change the world? Read one of our Outdo Yourself stories here...
"How it is that animals understand things I do not know, but it is certain that they do understand. Perhaps there is a language which is not made of words and everything in the world understands it. Perhaps there is a soul hidden in everything and it can always speak, without even making a sound, to another soul." ― Frances Hodgson Burnett
Last year, we ran a contest called Outdo Yourself (insert link: http://ferratumoutdoyourself.com). The idea behind the competition was to encourage people to share their goals and dreams with us and, in turn, we´d help make them happen.
Although there are, of course, many elements to making a dream a reality including self-belief and persistence, at Ferratum Money, we know that money can be another important factor. Money is a tool that enables people to say yes when opportunity knocks.
For our Outdo Yourself contest, we awarded three winners a generous grant along with the mentorship they needed to help achieve their goal.
To participate in the contest, entrants needed to record and share a video of themselves telling us what their goal or dream was, why it was important, what was holding them back, and how Ferratum could help.
We were overwhelmed by the number of people sharing their dreams and goals with us and the number of amazing videos we received.
So, after completing the difficult task of selecting just three contest winners, we decided to spread the positive messages contained in the videos even further.
Driven By Purpose
"Animals are the bridge between us and the beauty of all that is natural. They show us what's missing in our lives, and how to love ourselves more completely and unconditionally. They connect us back to who we are, and to the purpose of why we're here." ― Trisha McCagh
One of the Outdo Yourself entrants was an animal physiotherapist Ruudu from Estonia whose dream is to attend the Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner course held at the University of Tennessee.
Ruudu already works her dream job where she helps rehabilitate dogs. However, as she acknowledges, taking care of people´s pets is a great responsibility and her practical skills and knowledge always need to be the best they can.
By completing the course at the University of Tennessee, Ruudu can become even better at what she does and help dogs back on their feet and function better in their lives.
Helping Those Who Can´t Help Themselves
Ruudu says she sees her work as “an opportunity to help those who can´t help themselves”. What an incredible message. After all, studies have shown that anytime we help another being – whether it´s an animal or another human being – it increases our wellbeing.
Here at Ferratum Money, we´re happy we can help people say yes to life more often with our financial solutions.
Stay tuned for more inspiring stories from Outdo Yourself next month.
